Camille Paglia says in her current column, “At this point, Democrats’ main hope for the 2012 presidential election is that Republicans nominate another hopelessly feeble candidate. Given the GOP’s facility for shooting itself in the foot, that may well happen.”
That is absolutely correct, and the name of the hopelessly feeble candidate that the media pundocracy and the conventional-wisdom Republicans have in mind is the unelectable, evil, duplicitous, unexciting, snake known as Willard Milton Romney.
Romney is: a Mormon high-priest missionary, a liar, a pro-abort masquerading as a pro-life person, a flip-flopper, and an institutional racist, if his public statements are to be noted.
And that’s just for starters.
The Mass Resistance blog has well noted Romney’s serial duplicity, his forcing through gay marriage while pretending to be against it, his forcing through socialized health care while pretending to be conservative, and his closing of Catholic Charities’ adoption program in Boston. (Previously, Catholic Charities had placed many children in loving Christian homes, but Romney insisted that they must place vulnerable kids with homosexual “parents”. As a result, Catholic Charities shut down their adoption program rather than compromise Christ)
Obama isn’t damaged goods, he is former goods. His outrageous arrogance have gotten way out ahead of him, and he shows no flexibility. He is totally devoted to continuing on in his self-congratualtion, being totally tone deaf to any story except his own exceptionalism. That’s not negotiation or savvy politicking. He has shown himself to be brittle and unwilling to accept the people’s will over his own. Politically, he’s going to have to fight for minor achievements before 2010, and then lose Congress to conservatives. From then on, he may become Bill Clinton or be nobody. But whereas Bill Clinton had no principles, and therefore had endless flexibility, Obama is greatly devoted to his socialism even when no one wants it. As such, he is almost a lame duck today.
But Romney is who the media wants because he is a duplicitous liberal, and that is the only kind of Republican the media delights in. And so they beat the drums for him, despite his abysmal showing in the primaries, and despite Huckabee trouncing Romney in money spent to votes cast.
My friends, you can still have eight years of Obama. All you have to do is accept or nominate Mitt Romney for the Republican candidate in 2012 and the revulsive racist cult-high-priest will garner fewer votes than McCain.
