California is playing out its bankruptcy like an overexposed movie star trying hard after the plastic surgery has faded. But while the fashionable bankruptcies around the state borrow sparkle from the tinsel, they also give a great opportunity for a return to virtue, as splurging has proved a poor way to govern.

People forget that God is not just about virtue and decency, He is also about good results when His precepts are followed. But as we are all aware, public schools in California are so furiously anti-God they prosecute kids for meeting in Bible clubs after school. So, for all that anger against students, what has California’s output been? Is hating God outcome-based?

“But doesn’t she scare you?”

That’s the standard line when liberals reach to undermine Sarah Palin and the tea-party movement. That’s the sum of liberal emotional logic – they feel that it’s high-brow and informed to be “scared” of Sarah Palin.

In reality, though, the tactical thinking goes beyond these liturgical confessions. Desiring foremost to pump evangelical secularism, liberals consider it socially conscious to be piously “scared” of Palin like they were (allegedly) “scared” of George Bush. And it’s a badge of belonging, a rite of passage, to pompously consider all politically active Christians to be “frightening.” Yet, Sarah is not what really worries liberals behind closed doors.

The choker bill presently being rammed down America’s throat in the Congress is no exception. Ah, the terrible urgency of now.

The “stimulus” bill nowness, which was very strongly oversold to us in the terrible urgency of some TV cameras, andthe introspective caution of our new-now, invites our remembering of all Obama’s stimulating claims.

The argument went that Only The Government could possibly save us because Only The Government is Right Here and Right Now and Enough For You.  That’s been the standard liberal line since the world’s oldest profession was first nationalized, and it hasn’t changed.  Just dive through Las Vegas.
